Wedding Ring In Recycling Drama
Do you really think anyone would have found a wedding ring from a mound of newspapers weighing around 1000 kg? Well that’s what happened at a recycling unit at Fort Mojave in Arizona in the US. There was this lady who had been married for nineteen years who was putting newspapers into the recycling unit when suddenly her ring went in with the newspapers. She was a regular here and she came often to deposit all the stuff that needed to be recycled and nothing out of the ordinary had happened till a few days ago when she felt her ring slip off as she pitched the newspapers in. The wedding ring was a band of gold with a pearl mounted in the middle – and that pearl was symbolic of a child they were hoping to adopt.
Looking for a tiny piece of jewellery among thousands of sheets of newspapers is a daunting task and most people would say it was impossible. The lady tried pushing the papers back and forth but no luck. Then people around who joined in the search suggested she call up the head of the recycling unit. The staff at the unit went through the whole lot manually when normally it would have just been tipped into a shredder. It was a miracle – that the ring was found almost at the bottom of the pile and the head of the unit handed it over to the lady who was overjoyed. However, she vows it will be rings-off for her after this whenever she goes to the recycling bin.
