Rings in ice creams are a rather dangerous way to propose. For that matter, any dessert or food perhaps. What happens if the girl doesn’t notice it and swallows it? That’s what happened to a young couple in Farmington. Her boyfriend put the diamond engagement ring into a Wendy’s Frosty and gave it to her and before he knew it, she had swallowed the ring. 

She didn’t feel a thing so they wondered whether the ring had indeed been there at all till they had an X-ray taken and there it was, in her stomach. So they had to wait a couple of days before the ring passed out till it could be put on the finger it was meant for! 

What has happened however is that the two of them have shot to fame because of what happened and they have been zipping across the country giving television interviews. Is swallowing a diamond engagement ring the way to instant fame? Looks like it is!

She flaunted a 2 ¼ carat diamond flanked by sixty diamonds and they were all set in white gold. Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett got engaged a few days ago and she says she was taken by surprise.

It all began with the Andrea Lieberman’s fashion line, ALC. This was a do at Beverly Hills and J. Lo had borrowed diamonds worth thousands if pounds from Robert Mouawad to wear to the do. Now most celebrities return diamonds they borrow after an event but J. Lo loves her diamonds and so, after it was all over, she did not return them. Rather, her manager called to ask the jewellery store if she could keep the diamonds. Though it was a rather unusual request, the store said Yes because J. Lo coming to the event was a newsworthy one! The press even wrote about the line that was displayed.

For a billionaire like Robert Mouawad, the owner, the amounts we are talking about are miniscule and he would rather have an endorsement from J. Lo than go to the bother of getting the diamonds back. Considering that other stars usually have to return the jewellery they borrow, we’re guessing that people as famous as J, Lo are above that kind of law.

At the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, a wonderful exhibition is going to come to an end in a couple of weeks. Called the Nature of Diamonds, this exhibition has been put together by the Canadian arm of DeBeers – and really, who better to do this than the diamond kings themselves?

The exhibition is on at the Garfield Weston Exhibition Hall, located on Level B2 and it traces the story of the diamond from the depths of the earth to the fascinating jewellery that it is used for. The exhibition has made its rounds in the US and Toronto is the only place in Canada that the exhibition has come to.

What this exhibition seeks to do is to position the diamond as a natural substance and how it has journeyed over time through the earth, how it is extracted from the earth, how it is cleaned, honed, cut, polished and set to finally make it an object of wonder. A fascinating exhibition indeed for a stone that has gripped the minds and hearts of people for centuries!

Paris Hilton is obviously bored of getting engaged so now she’s adding bling to her Bentley. Let’s backtrack a bit. She first ordered a Bentley and then proceeded to have it painted pink. Her custom made Bentley is being assembled in Crewe and then being shipped out to her. Paris gifted herself the car for Christmas and instead of the Bentley emblem, she’s going to have her initials. The car is also going to have windows that have been tinted so she cannot be photographed inside the car by nosy newspapermen. Now Paris we know revels in all that publicity – so does she really want that? Or will she just be protecting her diamond dashboard?
