In Kuala Lumpur, Sunway ran a Valentine’s Day contest called Traces of Love and here’s what a couple had to do to enter. The contest was held at a mall in town. They had to leave their handprints on a wall and then write a love message. The message that was decided to be the most creative and the most – well, loving – would win the prize. The prize was two diamond rings.

There were 92 entries in all and the couple that won the first prize was Yong Hin Hon and Ching Siew Yin and the message that they had written was: ‘You are the cupid’s dart that goes straight to my beating heart.’ So they walked away with the diamond rings and more – they also got a coupon for a dinner at the Sunway Resort and two Sunway Theme Park tickets.

According to Yong, the message they wrote was straight from the heart – when you’ve met the right one, love messages like these obviously flow.

County Antrim in Northern Ireland witnessed a daring daylight heist of platinum and diamond rings from a jewellery store in Ballymena. Two men walked into the store and made off with three rings. Together, the three rings were worth thousands of pounds.

Descriptions of the two men have been circulated all over and the public has been warned to report anyone who is caught trying to dispose of these stolen goods. The men were believed to be from Eastern Europe. Any suspicious activity should be reported – at least that is the appeal the police have made, hoping to make some kind of headway in this case.

Apparently the theft occurred in the afternoon at Caldwells Jewellers when the two men made off with the tray in which the rings were kept.

Geri Halliwell who shot to fame in the nineties as one of the Spice Girls was seen walking around the streets of London with Fabrizio Politi, the Italian yacht tycoon and they were both wearing engagement rings. Now we do know that male engagement tings or ‘mengagement rings’ as some prefer to call them are becoming very popular and fashionable so maybe it wasn’t such a surprise to hear about it.

Jade is suffering from cervical cancer and it has spread, leaving her with not much hope.

She is weak but she went to Harrods to choose a wedding gown and come Sunday, even though she feels she is losing her balance, she would prefer to get married in a country house in Hertfordshire, which is an Italian style mansion that is run like a hotel. She does not want to be married in the hospital as she says she knows she is going to die there. What she wants to do is to walk down the aisle. Her sons are five and four and she shopped for clothes for them too.

All said and done, Jade has a very visible presence in the media and we’re sure that the whole event is going to be a very newsworthy one.

The star of so many great movies on the silver screen, Salma Hayek and her partner Francois have been together for nearly two years with a few months of separation in between. They have a baby daughter called Valentina Paloma Pinault who was born last September.

Francois-Henri Pinault is among the richest in France today and the billionaire and his actress wife set the city afire on Valentine’s Day. The engagement ring that Salma wore was made of platinum and had a diamond that was oval-shaped and must easily have been over five carats. A fitting ring indeed for someone as beautiful and talented as Salma Hayek.

She and photographer boyfriend Sasha Brown have been together now for three years and Amanda says that while they are very much in love, they are also best friends.
