Stealing anything from a patient is the worst thing possible and when a nurse’s aide does it, it really is despicable. That’s what happened though in New York at the Skilled Living Facility in Bethany Gardens.

The patient was an 89 year old woman and the aide made sure she got the rings by telling her that they were loose and could fall off so she would get them repaired for her. The patient gratefully handed them over. There were two rings. One was a family ring and the other was a diamond engagement ring. The lady had got engaged way back in 1940.

After a while, the patient enquired about the rings but the side just ignored her questions. Finally, she gave back the family ring. The diamond engagement ring however, had been pawned by the aide for a paltry £10!

Rumours have it that Holly Madison and Criss Angel were seen looking at rings – not just any rings but diamond rings. So can we expect wedding bells soon? Spokespeople for both of them deny any thought of marriage and they say the ring that Criss bought Holly was a birthday gift. However, they were spending Christmas at Vegas and both their families were together with them and they were meeting for the first time. So maybe there is some truth in the rumour after all.

The strange thing was that she got a call on Christmas Eve to say that the ring was ready but when her husband went to pick it up, the shop was shuttered and he heard that it had been closed after declaring bankruptcy.

However, the Zeldens did everything they could to get it back. They called other branch offices of Christian Bernard but made no headway as no one returned their call. They have finally got the name of the trustee of the whole chain and they live in hope that maybe they will get the ring back. Lawyers say it could take time but they feel that the couple can hope to get it back. The couple will be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary soon and the only thing they want to make it completely happy is the ring back.

In Buffalo, in the city of Lockport, the New Year did not usher in too much joy for one unlucky woman. She had a New Year’s Eve party in her home and ended up getting into the New Year with a great sense of loss rather than look forward to the year that had just begun.
