Diamond Engagement Ring Lost When Store Goes Bankrupt
It’s something you would never dream would happen and if it does, it’s the most rotten experience. This is what happened when Kim Zelden of Schaumburg took her ring to the jewellers to have it repaired. Her £2700 diamond engagement ring was handed in to the Christian Bernard outlet in her town and it couldn’t have been there more than a few days. The strange thing was that she got a call on Christmas Eve to say that the ring was ready but when her husband went to pick it up, the shop was shuttered and he heard that it had been closed after declaring bankruptcy.
The festive season is hardly the time one needs to bear the loss of something so precious and of sentimental value as an engagement ring. However, the Zeldens did everything they could to get it back. They called other branch offices of Christian Bernard but made no headway as no one returned their call. They have finally got the name of the trustee of the whole chain and they live in hope that maybe they will get the ring back. Lawyers say it could take time but they feel that the couple can hope to get it back. The couple will be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary soon and the only thing they want to make it completely happy is the ring back.
