However, it is said that the lady was not too pleased and took the ring back. According to one source, the ring was a gorgeous engagement band but obviously not Vanessa’s taste.

They have been a happy couple for years and they both had stated that they didn’t really like the idea of marriage. They have a girl who is nine and a boy who is six and the rumours, in spite of denials from both of them, are very strong that they could be tying the knot in April. They live their lives very privately so in all probability, that’s the way the wedding is going to be too. Diamond Ring In Shoe Returned

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

In South Florida at West Boca, a sales lady found a diamond ring that had slipped into a designer shoe that had been tried on by one of the store’s customers. It was a diamond ring that was worth a lot – thousands of dollars actually. Something like that could have so easily been slipped into her pocket and no one would have been any the wiser. However, that wasn’t the way she looked at it. She immediately handed it to the lost property department.

This, when she is a person of modest means which only goes to show that honesty is very much a part of certain people and no amount of temptation can shake those values. For the person who lost the ring, it was a moment of gratitude. The ring had belonged to her great grandmother and she cannot get over the fact that someone was honest enough to return it. She cannot believe that there are still such honest people left in this world. Least of all a Mexican immigrant who has to change three buses to get to work.

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Have the actress Jennifer Lowe Hewitt and Scottish actor Ross McCall broken up? They got engaged last year and they had been going around for two years before that but the relationship seems to have run into stormy weather. The actress isn’t telling but she has admitted to the fact that they do have some problems which need to be ironed out and that they are working through it together.

Jennifer has been seen around without her ring though he insists the diamond engagement ring is still on her finger – and so is his – he wears an engagement ring too. He was seen last year packing up and leaving her place while she was in tears. However they worked through that so maybe this too, is just another blimp on the way to marriage.

Diamond Rings: Dig For Diamonds For A Few Dollars

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

It’s like something out of a Gold Rush movie – but it’s in the here and now. In Arkansas, USA, there’s a State Park called the Crater of Diamonds and all you need to do is pay $7 as an entrance fee and you are given a shovel to try your luck at finding diamonds. The park gets a large number of visitors and the last year, there were more than a thousand diamonds found!

There are some people who come three or four times a year in the hope of finding a diamond. The question is, are the diamonds real or are they created in a laboratory? Considering that that there was someone who found a stone that was 3.9 carats, one wonders just how authentic these stones are. However, it was later found that the person who found the diamond could just have been doing a swindle and the diamond seems to have been imported and falsely passed off as an Arkansas diamond. Others however, have had great finds which have proved to be authentic.

However, way back in 1906, a farmer discovered a dazzling stone on his property and from then on, the legend of diamonds in Arkansas which was then one of the poorer states in the US, grew. There was a rush of diamond prospectors that followed and though some found a few small stones, many packed up and went back to where they came from. The Crater of Diamonds State Park is situated on the land of the farmer who discovered that first diamond. There have been geological studies done in the area and the results are controversial. While some believe that diamond mining there could yield rich dividends, others feel that it could just be a pipe dream.

A Proposal And A Diamond Engagement Ring After Historic Inauguration

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

President Obama had just taken the oath and had created history becoming the 44th US President. There were thousands of people who had flocked from all over to watch this historic moment. Among the crowd were two people very much in love and the man wanted to make this proposal a very special moment. So, soon after the inauguration, he went down on one knee in the traditional way and asked his girlfriend to marry him.

Kit Crawford couldn’t have done it better if he tried. Megan Kilgas was so stunned and probably only believed it when he slipped that diamond engagement ring onto her finger. Both are from the University of Tennessee and had come all the way to Washington to watch the inauguration. Everyone around was happy to be a part of this happy moment too and there was applause all around. They hope to get married when Megan’s father who is stationed in Afghanistan gets back next year.

Diamond Engagement Rings With On-Demand Diamonds

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

It’s top secret and it means what it says. There’s a company that can produce diamonds on demand. Obviously, the whole operation is very hush-hush and some wonder if it is true or just a cleverly made up story but the whispers are growing louder so maybe there is a grain of truth in it.

The company, Apollo Diamonds of the US says that they have cracked the way to make lab-grown diamonds. Of course, this could make them a target of the diamond mine owners but they say they have the technology ready to roll. They subject graphite to really high temperatures and what you get is a diamond – comparable, it is said, to the best that comes out of the heart of the earth. It’s been a long and arduous journey but apparently it has finally been a success for the family who owns the company.

Let’s face it, a diamond is carbon. If only someone could replicate the heat that the carbon went through, what should result are diamonds. So maybe it is a possibility after all that these lab-grown diamonds will give the real ones a run for their money.
