A Nine Year Wait For A Diamond Engagement Ring
That’s what Karla Mason had to do – wait a whole nine years for her boyfriend to ask her to marry him. In the meanwhile, she bore his three children. So it was a long wait as far as she was concerned. Then, finally, he did propose and she was ecstatic. At long last, there was a sapphire and diamond engagement ring on her finger.
Karla plays soccer and she’s the goalie for this Birkdale women’s soccer team. After a game, she was driving home when suddenly she realised that her engagement ring wasn’t on her finger. And that after their team had lost the game. The ring had been loose for her but she had it resized so she felt it was probably the rain that made it loose and slip off her finger. She, her fiancé, two of their children and friends spent hours looking for it and even hired metal detectors.
It was at night that they found out that a player had found it and picked it up, meaning to hand it to the police. Karla however, was overjoyed that she had got it back and vows to have it fitted really well this time so there is no chance of it slipping off.
