Engagement Rings And Wedding Rings Made From Elk Teeth

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Elk ivory or elk teeth jewellery is becoming more acceptable today. Elk teeth come in colours ranging from pure white to a brown-white and the colour depends a lot on the land that they are used to grazing in. Sometimes, the teeth have swirls of brown on white or the other way around.

Very often, jewellery fashioned out of elk teeth is more of sentimental value. People have been known to make engagement rings as well as wedding rings out of it. These usually serve as reminders of their first hunt or maybe the first time they shot one. Other jewellery made of elk teeth includes bracelets, pendants, necklaces, etc.

The teeth that are used to make the jewellery are the back teeth of the animal and these are the teeth that produce a weird mating call when they pass their breath over them. They are also called their bugling or whistling teeth. Some jewellers specialise in jewellery made of elk teeth.

Earliest Known Diamond Wedding Ring On Display

Monday, November 17th, 2008

In New York at the Met, there’s an exhibition of Italian Renaissance Works on from tomorrow and it’s being held with a lot of magnificence surrounding it. The paintings and art objects have all been created around love and marriage. There are marriage portraits, wedding jewellery and gifts given to couples when they got married.

Also among these treasures is a diamond wedding ring – one of the earliest ones that exist. The whole exhibition is in three parts – Betrothal, Wedding and Childbirth. There are majolica wedding gifts that are so intricately decorated. The paintings are incredible works of art and feature Lorenzo Lotto’s Venus and Cupid which is a part of the Met collection.

It looks like it’s going to be a treasure trove of artefacts with exquisite bridal chests, painted cassoni, gilded boxes, birth trays and Renaissance glassware. It’s going to feature some of the best known artists of Italian Renaissance and will probably be a milestone in art in New York.

An Engagement Ring And Its Long Journey

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

This is a story of a romantic soldier who bought a beautiful diamond engagement ring for his girl – when he was stationed in Afghanistan. Andy Meacham from the US joined the military soon after he graduated from school but he wanted to get his girlfriend an engagement ring that was truly exquisite. However, he was sent off and his girlfriend anxiously waited for him to return.

It was while he was in Afghanistan that he found the ring of his dreams – just the one he wanted to give his girlfriend. So he bought it – at a bargain he thought – and shipped it off back home in a military container. When he got back, he realised that the ring hadn’t arrived so they decided to get married rather than wait for the ring.

When the ring did arrive in the country, it got locked into a safe and it took four months of running around and getting past the red tape till they finally got the ring – which was placed on his wife’s finger.

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

That’s what Lindsay Logan and Samantha Ronson plan to do tomorrow. From London, where they are right now, they plan to go to Paris, exchange engagement rings there and come back to London.

Samantha Ronson has a few shows in London which is why they are here but they have decided to take a quick break while in London to pop across to Paris and do it the romantic way. The actress and her DJ partner, who is originally from London want this to be special.

Or was it just talk? For all one knows, it could be true. So one wonders how long this relationship with Samantha will last.

Engagement Diamond Ring Carat Weight Sparkles On Bentley Key Fob

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

There are 101 diamonds adding up to 1.6 carats which is normally the approximate weight of a diamond engagement ring and they are used to adorn a key fob. However, this is no ordinary key fob but a Bentley key fob and it’s made by a company that is known for its luxury items. Amosu Luxury makes ordinary products luxurious – whether it is a key fob, a mobile phone or whatever.

It all began when Alexander Amosu made a fortune with his R&B ringtones and then went on to make luxury phones for celebrities. He knew that they would pay the earth to have a phone that was unique, exclusive and very, very pricey.

From there to key fobs for high end cars was a logical step. The Bentley key fob has the diamonds infused into the familiar logo and comes at a whopping price of £5,000. Looking at it, you realise that it is much more than just a key fob – this is a piece of exquisite jewellery.

Girls Aloud Star Denies Her Ring Is An Engagement Ring

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Are Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud and Tom Crane, DJ about to get married? Well, the Girls Aloud star says an emphatic No. The reason the rumours began is because Sarah was seen sporting a ring at the Monday night Music Trust Awards in London. Obviously this was all it took to start off all that speculation. Well, she couldn’t really have been all that surprised now, could she? What was she thinking when she went out wearing the ring on her wedding ring finger?

Sarah Harding and Tom Crane have been together for almost a year and a half but she is vehement that there are no wedding bells in sight. And what about Tom Crane? What does he have to say about it? Well, he is very clear too that there has been no engagement. What he would like to make clear is that when and if he pops the question, he will make sure that he gets her a huge diamond engagement ring, not a plain silver band like the one that she was supposed to have worn a few days off.

The Wedding Ring Bearer – An Owl

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Yes, it really was an owl that brought in the wedding rings when a couple got married last month in Balgonie Castle near Edinburgh in Scotland. The whole wedding had a fairytale quality about it. The castle was 14th century, a place that Rob Roy and Mary Queen of Scots had visited and the whole atmosphere was one of old world elegance and charm.

Celeste, the bride wanted an owl to carry the rings to them because for her the owl was a symbol of wisdom. So Finnbar, the owl was pressed into service and he did a remarkable job even though it was his first time as ring bearer. The wedding bands were tied to his feet with a leather strap and he was trained to carry them in.

It was a wedding to remember and the bride was 56 while the groom was 57. They were glad that the wedding could be held in the castle and that all their children as well as their grandchildren could attend. They even followed the Scottish custom of a horseshoe for luck and had a huge flower horseshoe made and carried down the aisle.

Wedding Ring Payment Tangle

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

A young couple bought their wedding rings at a jeweller’s store and got married in June. Though they had paid for the wedding rings by credit card, they got a lot of money as gifts during their wedding and so decided to pay off the amount through an online bill payment company. Imagine their shock when they got a reminder from the jewellery store that they hadn’t paid. Jason and Sarah Williams from Sacramento, USA were nonplussed because their online bill payment records showed that the money had been credited to the company.

It was only after quite a bit of confusion that they realized that there were two online companies with the same name and the payment had gone to the wrong company. There were two Rogers Jewellers – while one was the store in Sacramento they had bought their white gold wedding rings from, the payment had erroneously gone to a store of the same name in Iowa. What followed was worse – the store that received the money didn’t return it to them so they ended up paying for their rings twice. Well, the online payment company gave them a refund so all’s well that ends well.
