What Was A Magpie Doing With A Diamond Engagement Ring?
Three years after Julia Boaler lost her £5,000 platinum diamond engagement ring, they found it – in all places – in a magpie’s nest. The pear shaped diamond ring got lost when she was taking a shower and she and her fiancé just could not figure out how the ring had got lost. She had left it on the ledge in the bathroom from where it had just vanished. Thinking that it had been stolen, they gave up hope of getting it back.
Then three years later, when her fiancé was trimming an old oak tree in the garden, he saw an old nest and lo and behold, there was the diamond engagement ring inside! The reason he had been trimming the tree was to make the garden look a bit tidier as they were going to sell the house. Wasn’t that just a lucky streak! Well, they’ve insured that ring now and they’re planning to get married soon.
