She Doesn’t Wear His Engagement Ring Anymore

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

When Nicollette Sheridan appeared in public without her diamond engagement ring, it signalled the end of her engagement obviously. This Desperate Housewives star had been in a relationship with the musician Michael Bolton for a while. Theirs has been an on-off kind of romance for so long. They were a couple for many years in the nineties and then met up again three years ago. They’ve been engaged for two.

However, it doesn’t look like there is any bitterness and it seems to have been an amicable split. She is busy with her TV show which is entering its fifth season and everyone expected them to announce their wedding soon. However, her appearances without her diamond engagement ring seem to very clearly signal the fact that there’s going to be no wedding ring.

Will Tales Of Lost And Found Engagement Ring Diamonds Never End?

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

This time however, it was just the diamond, not the whole ring. Crystal Jardine from Bathurst got engaged four months ago. She works as a bartender at the Squire Green Golf Course and on a particularly busy Saturday, she realised that the diamond at the centre of her diamond engagement ring was missing. It could have fallen anywhere because she had been all around the greens, on the patio, in the kitchen. She also was aware that finding it was one chance in a million – maybe less.

As luck would have it, her fiancĂ© was playing golf on that day and when she called him to tell him, he joined in the search too even though it seemed so futile. Then fate stepped in. There were some people on the patio and a child there found the diamond and was playing with it. Thinking it was a piece of glass and he could get hurt, it was taken away but one of the ladies there put it into her camera case just in case it was worth something – in which case, someone would be looking for it.

What a stroke of luck! Crystal and her diamond have been re-united and the ring has gone to the jeweller’s to be reset. She is so grateful to the Lynn, the lady who found it. Quite a fairytale ending, that.

A Year Of Lost And Found Diamond Engagement Rings

Friday, August 29th, 2008

A Lotto ticket wasn’t very lucky for Liza Pham. In Tracy, California, Liza walked into a Save Mart store to buy a Lotto ticket, hoping that luck would come her way. As luck would have it, she left the store losing something precious – her diamond engagement ring and wedding ring set from Tiffany’s. She searched high and low and even tried hypnotherapy just to try and remember where she could have lost them but to no avail.

However, good fortune smiled on her when one of the store’s baggers saw the diamond engagement ring just outside the store and gave it to the store manager for safekeeping. When no one came forward to claim it, they took it to Tiffany’s because it had the jeweller’s name and a serial number engraved inside. It was then that Liza came back to the store to see if anything had turned up and was overjoyed to find her diamond engagement ring. She didn’t recover her wedding ring sadly but her expensive diamond engagement ring is on her finger again! It seems to be a year of engagement rings being lost and found again!

What Was A Magpie Doing With A Diamond Engagement Ring?

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Three years after Julia Boaler lost her ÂŁ5,000 platinum diamond engagement ring, they found it – in all places – in a magpie’s nest. The pear shaped diamond ring got lost when she was taking a shower and she and her fiancĂ© just could not figure out how the ring had got lost. She had left it on the ledge in the bathroom from where it had just vanished. Thinking that it had been stolen, they gave up hope of getting it back.

Then three years later, when her fiancĂ© was trimming an old oak tree in the garden, he saw an old nest and lo and behold, there was the diamond engagement ring inside! The reason he had been trimming the tree was to make the garden look a bit tidier as they were going to sell the house. Wasn’t that just a lucky streak! Well, they’ve insured that ring now and they’re planning to get married soon.

Beth Ostrosky To Replace Her Diamond Engagement Ring With Her Wedding Band

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

She’s got a stunning 5.2 carat diamond engagement ring on right now. But Beth Ostrosky intends to take it off and keep it away safely when she gets married to Howard Stern. She’s announced that her wedding ring is going to be a stunner – well, her engagement ring is, so we wonder what it’s going to be like!

The date hasn’t been set as yet and even though there is a lot of speculation that the two have already tied the knot, Beth hastens to assure the world that it isn’t so.

In preparation for it though, or so it seems, they’ve both got tattoos – she’s got an ‘H’ tattooed on and he’s got one on his wedding ring finger. In fact, says Beth, that tattoo is going to be his wedding ring.

Beth Ostrosky is also training for the New York City marathon and she hopes that her participation will help raise $262,000. Strong rumours suggest that the weeding will probably take place before the event.

Indian Diamond Imports And Exports Up

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

In an international arena of rising prices, the value of rough diamonds imported by India this year went up 16% since the beginning of 2008. This reflects the rising demand all over the world for polished diamonds – rather a strange phenomenon in the current global scenario of inflation and rising prices – but that’s the way it is with diamonds right now. The average value of the exports rose 12.7% over the previous year.

Out of every 12 rough diamonds in the world, India processes 11 and two thirds of the total jewellery and gems that are exported by India are cut and polished diamonds. What seems to be dictating the rise in prices are the higher end and larger diamonds. S1+ and +1 diamonds seem to be very sought after on the international market. This price rise - very often 25% in some cases - is not reflected in the lower end of the diamond scale. Diamonds with a low carat weight seem to command a very negligible change in price.

Engagement Ring On Cameron’s Finger?

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Was that an engagement ring on Cameron Diaz’s wedding ring finger? It was chunky, it was flashy and she wasn’t exactly hiding it from the world!

Cameron Diaz is dating Paul Sculfor, the hot British model and it looks like the two are hitting it off really, really well. We wonder now what happened between Jennifer Aniston and him. They were a couple and it looked like Jen had finally found what she was looking for. But she seems to have a bit of trouble keeping the men in her life.

Cameron and Paul have been spotted together around town and they were recently together on a romantic getaway on an island in the Maldives. They were at the posh Four Seasons Hotel and they spent every moment together snorkelling, swimming and kayaking.

Now was that an engagement ring? Or was it just another ring? We wonder, we really do!

Wedding Ring Runaround On Stage

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

While Travis was singing ‘Flowers in the Window’ on August 17th at the V Festival at Chelmsford, Fran Healy, its front man, lost his wedding ring. Very much, he said, like Lord of the Rings, dropping his ring and losing it like that. Well, he stopped singing to look for the ring. And he was only a little bit into the song. But when it happened to be his wedding ring, he just had to stop the singing and start on the seeking.

The ring was found very quickly, much to the audience’s delight and the band went back to the show which included some of their hot favourites like “Sing’, ‘Closer’ and ‘Waiting to Reach You’. The show ended with a great rendition of ‘Why does it always rain on me?’

The show was packed and while the crowd just loved all the old numbers, Travis also introduced three new tracks from their new albums which were received well too. They really did rock that JJB Arena, in spite of that little break to find that wedding ring.

Trolling The Sewer Lines For A Wedding Ring

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

That’s what the Public Works Department did in America in Piscataway, NJ, when a little girl flushed her mother’s wedding ring down the toilet bowl. Now why would she want to do that? Because she’s just two and really didn’t know better.

Here’s what happened. Angelica Nols had just removed her wedding ring, her engagement ring and her anniversary ring – she wears three rings – to wash her face. That was when little Isabella her daughter came into the bathroom too. Then the mother heard the flush and when she turned around, the little girl was holding her engagement ring and her anniversary ring in her hands. The wedding ring was gone. Isabella said she’d flushed it down the toilet.

When they couldn’t get it out, Angelica’s husband decided to call the public works department and they came to help with their new £100,000 plus pipeline inspection unit. Now what this had was a truck that had a camera which could snake its way right through the sewers. The equipment is basically used to detect any kind of flaws or damage – but here was an opportunity to restore a wedding ring to a lady! Find it they did and Angelica was overjoyed. The ring was disinfected and Angelica Nols says she is never going to take it off her finger again. That was one heck of a journey for a ring!

Who Stole The Diamond Engagement Ring?

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

First it was a lawsuit. Officer of the California police, Deanna Michelle Mory sued the Chula Vista police precinct over whether she could compete in a beauty pageant or not. That was two years ago. She was crowned Ms. California in 2006 after which the police department put its foot down and said no more pageants. Well, she didn’t like that, not one bit.

Then it was her diamond engagement ring. No ordinary diamond engagement ring – it was one that cost nearly £8500. It had been put on her finger by Brian Callahan who she was engaged to and who was a soldier fighting in the Iraq war. Now when the couple broke up, Brian alleged that the ring was stolen.

The upshot of this is that Deanna has been asked to go on leave at least till the court hearing on August 29 is over. She’s on paid leave and no charges have been filed by the prosecutors as yet. Does she have the ring? Was it that she didn’t really want to give it back? With a sparkler like that, we’re guessing temptation just walks two steps behind!

First A Merc, Then An Engagement Ring?

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Not just any old Merc – a top-of-the-line Mercedes – that’s what Hillary Duff got for her 20th birthday from her boyfriend Mike Comrie. They’ve been together for nearly a year – and people are already asking if they are engaged. Not without reason – she was spotted leaving her house with a diamond ring on her wedding finger. The two were on their way to dinner at a restaurant in Los Angeles. Could it be an engagement ring? Or is it just another gift from the pro-hockey player to the actress? You know, after a Merc comes a diamond ring, naturally. Or could it just be that he has popped that all-important question? Wouldn’t her fans love to know!

Hillary Duff turns 21 next month so we wonder what Mike Comrie will get her then. After all, besides being a pro hockey player, he’s also the heir to The Brick Furniture in Canada. The thing is, Hillary Duff’s representatives are neither saying Yes or No. So we wonder, just wonder what all that mystery is about. Oh what excitement an engagement ring incites to be sure!
