Diamond Gazing: The Van Cleef & Arpels Bridal Show

Recently, this famous jewellery house had a fashion show to exhibit its latest bridal collection of wedding gowns and wedding jewellery. The gowns were designed by Eymeric Francois, the young and upcoming haute couture designer from France and featured some very special gowns, many of them sensual and revealing. The gowns feature lace, trimmings of gold, Japanese kimono-like gowns and gowns fashioned like corsets.

The jewellery that was unveiled was Van Cleef & Arpels’s latest bridal collection called the ‘French Kiss’. The collection included a stunning range of diamond engagement rings, wedding rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets. The collection breathes love through every design – there are heart-shaped diamonds, solitaires, diamonds in flowery patterns and in gossamer lace designs.

The collection will be on view till the 11th of July in Seoul and you can view them at some of the major boutiques. During this exhibition, there will be specially-commissioned paper dolls in wedding gowns that will be a part of the decorative background for the jewellery.

The French Kiss is probably a collection that befits the Van Cleef & Arpels legacy considering that the jewellery design store came into being with a love story – that of Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle Arpels who fell in love and set up the Paris store in Place Vendome which still figures as its main store. From this flagship store, there have been so many diamond engagement rings that have been bought to declare a couple’s love to the world – and this list includes royalty as well as the rich and famous.
